Manila
Airport - Servicing over 30 international
airlines, the Ninoy Aquino International Airport has
duty-free centers, tourist information offices, banks,
postal services, land transportation services, hotel
and travel agency offices and a small medical clinic.
Manila Airport is 4 miles (7km)
south of the center of Manila. Passenger services
at Manila airport include shops, restaurants and bars;
ATMs, currency exchange, left-luggage and postal services.
The airport is hot and uncomfortable, however there
is an excellent lounge, the Manila Lounge, which offers
showers, clean toilets, drinks, magazines and newspapers
for only US$11, or free for Diners Club members. Departure
tax for international flights is PhP550.00 or US$11.00.
For domestic flights, the departure tax is PhP100.00
(local currency only). Keep in mind that fees must
be paid in cash.
There
are numerous taxis waiting for prospective customers
outside the Manila Airport Ninoy
Aquino, but it is best to book one before leaving
the airport at one of the Taxi Offices or to call
a car service to pick you up. There is also an airport
bus service to the center of Manila, and regular buses
that leave from outside the airport every 15 minutes
to traverse destinations along Manila's ring road.
Colorful 'Jeepneys' offer services between the airport
and a metro rail terminal, which connects to the city
center.
